Tastes of the New World for Fine Wine Lovers
For anyone who delights in fine wine, but wants to widen their knowledge and heighten their enjoyment, the Decanter New World Fine Wine Encounter is an event designed for just that. Presenting wines from the New World: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, California, Chile, New Zealand, Oregon and South Africa, over 60 leading wineries will be gathered under one roof for the highlight of the New World wine lovers’ calendar.
Tickets cost £40 each and attendees will get the opportunity to meet leading wine makers in person and try over 300 fine wines. From Buller, Ten minutes by Tractor, and Bellvale wines from Australia to Dog Point and Wild Earth from New Zealand to Au Bon Climat from California and Hamilton Russell from South Africa.
Chile: Featured Nation Room: Wines of Chile are featuring a Nation Room dedicated to all things Chile. Wines will be provided from some of Chile’s vinous hot spots including: Old Vine Carignan, Cool Climate Sauvignon Blanc, Carmenere, and Organic & Sustainable Chile.
Visitors will move around the winemakers’ tables in small groups of 3-4 to taste, listen, and learn or to quiz and question. Find out about the food that compliments Chile’s wine and the country itself, with a multiplicity of different terroirs which make its wine so memorable and diverse including Casa Marin’s stunning sauvignons from the Chilean coast.
As part of the Fine Wine Encounter, separate masterclasses can be booked to take part in Decanter magazine’s world class tutored tastings. The subjects for discussion are: Icons of the New World with Stephen Brook. New World Pinot Classics with Anthony Rose and Old Vines and New Wines from Australia. Additionally, at different times during the day, three tutored tastings will take place in the New World Discovery Theatre. The themes will cover Wines of Long Island: New York State, South African Chenin Blanc and Wines of Brazil. Discovery Theatre tickets cost £15 each.
